Why Bellavigna on 8 December

The start of the holidays

The day Campania puts up the tree and the nativity scene: a lunch to toast the coming of Christmas together.

Pezzente ragù

Pezzente, Irpinia’s humble cured pork, becomes the ragù for the ziti, with a sheep’s ricotta foam: tradition and technique on one plate.

Fried bites and home flavours

Provola croquette, golden sweet-and-sour anchovies, aubergine parmigiana in a crust, sausage and friarielli praline.

Struffoli and cantucci

It ends with the sweets that open Christmas, and Irpinian wines — Fiano, Greco and Aglianico — for the toast.

The 8 December lunch in Irpinia

Bellavigna is a country house in the countryside with a restaurant serving authentic Irpinian cooking, reinterpreted: traditional recipes and local produce, cooked with contemporary technique, in a dining room overlooking the vineyards of Montefalcione.

In 2026 the holiday falls on a Tuesday — a good excuse for a long weekend, and for a night in the countryside in one of our rooms.
